Och! How I love a good Hamish Macbeth mystery. They may not be filled with profound or flowery imagery or obscure literary references, but they always tie up the loose ends.

Fun and entertaining, of course, but the ending doesn't make a hell of a lot of sense and the love interest character is so hateful and annoying that I don't see why the author likes her, much less the main character (both of whom are called Kinky Freidman).
