Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West, by Gregory Maguire

Sooooo good!!! One of my favourites of all time! Gregory Maguire is obviously a huge fan of The Wizard of Oz and answers all the questions I didn't think to ask.

Female Chauvinist Pigs: Women and the Rise of Raunch Culture, by Ariel Levy

Wow! It isn't too often that a book really articulates those nameless things that have been niggling at me, jolts me into action and changes my perceptions of the world. (Then again, I don't often read non-fiction, so maybe it would happen more often if I did.) This book is brilliant. I can't wait to re-read it. It was like the proverbial scales being lifted from my eyes, reading this book.
