It was fine, but I need to take a little break from Laura Childs. I feel like I could read a dozen books in this series, all set in Charleston SC, and never meet a black character. Plus all the reminiscence about the "genteel times" gone by, the plantation houses and the confederate societies...it gets a bit icky. Time for a MUCH needed break, which may be a long one.

Oh these books are fun, but a little silly. I learn a little about tea, but the plots are sometimes a bit thin and the ending was...oh dear.

His first novel, The Shroud of the Thwacker, was one of my favourite comedic novel of all time. This one was definitely lacking. It was really just okay. I guess I'll give him one more chance (if he has a third book).
